Puppetry is a long respected tradition, and there are a wide variety of puppets and marionettes made of rattan or wood in different forms that make attractive decoration and unusual gifts.

 

Marionettes can be seen at market stalls and workshops in Mandalay or Yangon as souvenir to hang them at their home, with manageable 20 strings.
